Kicking it old school. 1600's style.

I got some fruit from the kitchen, some candlesticks from the mantle, a noose from the gallows, and a skull from the duggery.

Composed and lit up

If viewed closely, there are lots of "real world" reflection and refraction effects going on here.

Gilded frame. In my minds eye, all still lifes are Dutch. I should have had something sliced open or half chewed but I'll leave that to the Masters.

Not sure if too understated or too overstated. Probably too dark for many. Oddly enough, I actually used multiple spot lighting to "create" the darkness. Something in this image appears odd in some way on someone's monitor.

I'm pretty confident I can hit the big 5.000 with this one.

Pretty basic editing, tweaked lighting and color curves. A little sharpening and an eye of newt.

Eat that banana quick before it goes bad. And don't store your fruit with skulls. It sort of creeps out guests when they come to visit.

There's too much going on between the fruit, the bowl, the candlesticks, then throwing in the rope and the skull. Sometimes less is more. The skull on it's own would be interesting. Good luck.

Seems a bit dark and flat.
