As I understand it the definition of an HDR is a number of images blended together and tone mapped and by that definition this is not an HDR. It is two exposures, one for the foreground and one for the sky, stitched together to produce a single balanced exposure. I admit it has an HDR like quality though and people either like them or they do not. This was taken early on a thursday morning, very recently following a tough 12 hour night shift.

The place is Quarry Bank in the West Midlands (UK) in an area that is not far from Iron Bridge in Shropshire, arguably the birth place of the industrial revolution and was very heavily industrialised in Victorian times. In fact it is said that the region's nick name, 'The Black Country' was given by Queen Victoria herself on a train journey through the area because it was so blackened by industrial soot from the thousands of foundries powering the British Empire at the time.

Also a point of interest is that Robert Plant, the lead singer of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin is from very near here and can still be 'bumped into' in local rock bars on his still frequent visits to his old stomping grounds.
