 Bushveld, woodlands, gardens. Widespread in S an E South Africa, very common resident. The males get really long tails in breeding season- sometimes they look so heavy that the birds have a hard time flying!

The chest feathers are all fluffy - almost seems a bit like fur rather than feathers!
