 I decided to use the Free Study to showcase and test what I have (and haven't) learnt each month. I love looking through all the inspirational photos on DPC and chose one of the many mazing match lighting images to try and replicate.

It was very hard to get a good one about 50 images in all. It also put my newly acquired Photoshop knowledge to the test.

I am pleased with result and I hope it does ok. Anything over 6 will be a new personal best and I'd be happy.

This also really made me see for the first time some of the limitations in my kit (especially the lens) and the ammount of noise in the old D70! Time to go shopping I think :)

This was one of my favorites in the challenge. I like how you captured the textures of the burning match so clearly in the center of the flame. The whisps of smoke added a nice touch around the edge. Perhaps a few blown areas in the center and a bit of an overdone topic for the mass of voters, but I thought it was a great shot :)
