Just thought I would try something new to me but I know it has been done before. It is an orange slice placed standing up on a mirror. It is back-lit by a spot light. The liquid at the bottom is a water/glycerin mix as well as the drop in the middle of the orange slice.

I cropped tight, and I am sure I will here about it, but I wanted to convey a feeling that the slice was being squeezed to make the drop of juice come out and into view. Hopefully some people see this in the shot.

I personally like it so it won't matter what my score is when it is all said and done.
Hope you enjoy.

This looks like you had a really cool idea. However, with the orange being cropped off on the sides it seems like something is missing. Too bad - I think this would have been a very effective shot. 5

Nice shot. Pity it's cropped so tightly on the sides. As a square aspect photo I'm sure it would look better.

This is a bit too dark and overcropped. It seems rather claustrophobic.

Fabulous..the lighting and the colour are excellent and that little reflection on the bottom just tops it off.
great stuff.

Nice effect and colours. But I would have gotten rid of the bottom.

Great use of this often used technique... here it seems quite fresh. I love the textures at the bottom of the frame. Nice sharpness. Nice idea to have a reflection at the bottom. Great silhouette at the top. Lovely colour and saturation.

looks like a commercial!! The colours are fine, but I think it's just too small cropped on the edges and too big on the upper and bottom site..maybe a light from the site would have lit up the orange, making it more sparkling orange on the sites!!

Very original and creative composition. Love the backlighting and nicely saturated color and the way you've captured the drop in the center. Also like the way you've captured the rind and spray on the bottom. Very well done.

I like this one, the crop might be a little tight on the side for me but still a very good shot.
