Look at that SMILE!!!! I think it's adorable and even if it doesn't fit the tight PORTRAIT category, perhaps this IS the way that ELLA needs to be portrayed. I loved this pic and felt that it showed us a side of her personality that most of the pics in this challenge didn't reflect.
This is a PORTRAIT OF ELLA! I'm glad the chain link fence didn't cover her eye. That would have changed the entire pic. This way, she's sort of a LITTLE RASCAL dog!

Sorry but this comes across as a snapshot.
The backgrounsd doesn't help the image, the shadows on the face and slightly out of focus also don't help. Wide angle should not be used close up in a portrait, and standing above and looking down on the dog also help portray a snapshot. Get down to eye level with your dog. |

The fence here casts a bad shadow. Should have been taken in a more open area. |
