OK, it's not Joe. It's Billy and me. First attempt with the new lens. Over-sharpened. I don't like my open vest or the remote release in my hand. I kind of like the overall effect a bit. I tried to inject a little humor, not sure if I succeeded though. Need to try a few more challenges this year. Hoping for a 5!

LOL - there's a lot about this photograph to like, including the two matching profiles. Billy is a beautiful dog.

gee sorry i didn't comment on this back then - i like it! both subjects are looking particularly soulful, love the stares off into neverwhere. the dof is perfect and it is certainly not oversharpened by dpc standards. you might try making this b/w or sepia someday, it has an old feel to it. (and then i guess you can edit out the remote, which i didn't even notice!)

A shot that gets better with the pondering of it.

Interesting. I bet you are getting some negative comments on their being a person in the photo as well. But I think it adds to this one, and shows the comfort level of the dog and it's person. I love the subtle coloring and I LOVE the border. Good job!

This is a really good photo and the first photo with a person in it that works for me. Awesome pup!! 9

This is one of the best examples of using a deep DOF to capture a moment I have seen in a while. I like how the dog and the human are both in sharp focus. Good colors too.

The picture is sharp and I love the look you captured in the eyes and the calm expression. Nice shot. For purely personal preferences I think I would have cropped in for a tighter shot on Joe's head and maybe boosted the overall saturation a bit, but again that's only personal preference. On the other hand, by showing him sitting next to his friend you really showcase his personality.

You DO know we can see the remote, right? LOL!!! 6 That's why you use the timer, too!

What is it they say about a dog and his owner? Neat shot!
