This was my entry for the Best of 2008 Posthumous Open.
Below I have quoted the comments from the challenge.

Double exposure

The way I saw it was the overlaid image is the view into the water, to the stones in the stream bed. Then I saw that posthumous had also seen it that way, so presumably that's all wrong. Except alas I think he's right in this case, which makes the title so apt. The mood, for me, is of those late 19th century 'art' studies of sturdy ladies in bathing costumes.

context is everything. context puts a day in the park inside of a cave. context puts light in a box. Funny how much more compelling an image becomes the more it is obscured. I sense a cave of memories, stalactite synapses...

I am thinking a different crop may have helped this by removing the top portion of the image. There is nothing there that adds to the photo. I like the concept overall though.

This is indeed photo art. The composition and textures take the viewer into another realm which borders surrealism-- an excellent example of digital imagery as a form of self-expression. The B/W tone lends itself nicely to the overall theme. This is a very unique and innovative image and the PP is extremely well done.

What we have here, I'm sorry to say, seems to be a superimposition encompassing a tower of turds... Seriously, that was my first reaction. The base image looks very compelling, the superimposed image is extremely offputting to me.
