From a hike in the Sandias. I'll be visiting a lot in the future! Trued out a trial version of Topaz Adjust (anyone else use that?). It is fun, but way too pricey at $100! Anyway, I used a bit of that on this image.

I agree with the others on the noise.
I have to chuckle about Ken's suggestion for more green...this is New Mexico for crying out loud ;)

Very good composition and I love the sagey grays in this. The sky is showing some noise - not sure if this is a result of the processing but suspect it is.

It appears that the filter did a great job of bringing out the detail and contrast. I like the blue in the sky but would be nice to see a bit more green to balance it out.

Ann,
See the web page for examples. Frankly it does with a couple of clicks what would take me an hour in PS. Several people here are using it, but I hope it (or Lucis Arts) doesn't get too overused and voted down as a result.

What a great foreground for such a scape...well chosen.

I think it's been said before, but more contrast would imrpove this I feel. Either curves or some sharpening?

Very cool. You'll have to give us some black and whites from there!

I like the foreground elements in this photo and also those distant diagonal shadows, cool.

I like the perspective and composition. The focus seems a bit soft.
While the colors are nice, and maybe just a boost more contrast or saturation would really make them pop, this is one I personally think would be awesome in B&W

PAW - I like how you added close-up rocks and hills to the Sandia image. Enjoy your hikes.

I did the Topaz Adjust trial and then bought it after 30 days, and I've become addicted to it for easy but powerful edits. It works very well for landscapes, but for not so great for portraits. My PB used it pretty strongly, but with most pictures it's better to use it in moderation. I took the liberty of doing a quick edit of your shot using "Dramatic" Topaz Adjust with 1.5 sharpening and about .2 noise filter. It may or may not be better, but it definitely brings out the detail.

[eta] Oh, yeah, and Topaz Adjust has been on special for $40 for a long time. Has it gone up now?

They look like piles of ash. I suppose they are piles of ash. Surprising, fascinating texture.

Looks like a beautiful place to visit. This is a little dull on my monitor but I like the detail in the foreground and the sky.
