I was thinking this may have been a good one for the Ansel Adams challenge, but though it was taken during the challenge time I didn't look at it until after voting started. This isn't much of an oasis. The water is much saltier than the ocean. Lots of Tilapia fish live in it and birds on it, but they often die off in droves. These are allegedly the most photographed trees in Imperial County, California, though there aren't that many trees IN Imperial County. I like it and hope you do too.

This could really be Styx, except that there's a bit to bright... I think a bloodred sky (sunset) would suit the cursed river a bit better.

clean simple image, nice placement of the trees in the image, it needs something to really give it impact and my sense is that it isn't there

May just be me but I would have liked the trees probably with where they come from the ground being lower in the frame - closer to the bottom.
