My wife Wendy. Originally shot for the glasses challenge but I thought it turned out very flat so I decided to do something completely different (not with Wendy).
I do not own any studio equipment so this is simply 2 regular flashes without any diffusers controlled by a transmitter on the camera.

The people who know lights will probably tell you (or may already have - I haven't checked) but umbrellas would add the diffusion you seek. The Strobist bunch use regular flashes with umbrellas, diffusers, the like.

So different compared to nr.1 and very nice also. Can't add anything new here. I like the B&W "color" match. Don't like the somewhat harsh shadow of the glasses.

There's a lot to like here, especially the pose and the b&w scheme you have going no. Agreed with the others on the lighting, and bouncing works great.

Godo capture...not keen on the shadow from the flash.

PAW - I like the pose and framing/composition of it. Even without good studio lighting if you had bounced the light off the ceiling and wall or used some tissue or something to diffuse it that would have really helped reduce the shadows and glare on parts of the face. I wish I could get my wife or other people to pose for me!

Lighting is a bit flat, and the shadows from the glasses across her eyes/face would not have done well in the challenge. I do like how she is looking over her shoulder at you and looks comfortable having her picture taken.

Knips knips - you're going to wear that wife out - I guess she's happy posing though. You'll have a fair bit of practice at this before the year's out...

Well done. Would have been cool if the glasses shadow framed her eye too.

I have no clue with studio portraits, so I can't contribute anything with technicals. I really like the pose, and that she's looking back to you without it being over pronounced. Nice and relaxed.

Nice pose, very good relaxed portrait. Once again little experiement with lighting, may be? I am not an expert here when it comes to studio lights.

Wendy's a good sport. I like the way the pattern of her clothing matches - maybe complements is a better word - her eyeglasses. Good luck in the challenge.
