One of my favourites in this challenge. I can't believe it didn't do better.

Absolutly beautiful! The black and white shades are spot on. well done, I expect to see this on the front page.

Nice texture on both the rose and the wood, but for some reason the rose looks plastic, probably something in the PP which has caused that.

Coming back to comment...
Gorgeous toning, lovely details. Love the little knot in the wood leading to the rose. 10

Nice to see another of the few entries that acknowledge the "other side" of Ansel's best work, the muted, luminous "detail images" that he did so well. I'd have liked to see enough DOF that all the petals were in sharp focus, is my main nit here, but nicely done. I don't think the heavy-handed border is helping you much, but it's not that serious a hindrance either; I think it would have worked better if the white keyline were at 1 (or maybe 2) pixels width instead of the 8 or so it seems to be.

Superb recreation of a superb photo. Im guessing its a silk rose rather than real as the petals dont show much texture. Doesnt detract from the shot as it really is lovely

Hmmm lotsa flowers in this challenge but that said. I think you real "Anseled" the tonal qualities and for that, you get a 7. BTW, bit hot on a few spots on the petals. Good luck!
