 Great Egret on the move. Shot on a local side road through the windshield, from the driver's seat.
Manual focus 300mm f4.5 Nikkor ED IF. Hand held.
Crop, basic adjustments, antique effect, then color adjustments, sharpen.

Really lovely photo! It captures this birds grace and lines. The desat to this shot really works well as it highlights the birds feathers and the definition in its wings.

The light through the wings has a bit of an xray effect the way it shows up the layers. There is an echo of the feathers in the tree forms behind. Beautiful shot.

Good use of back-lighting, and I like the fact that the wing is fully extended displaying that wonderful splay of feathers. I have never seen one of these birds, except in photos - must be an impressive sight to see in the wild!
