I'm sure this will be one of at least 6 eagles in the challenge . .

I just seriously do not get this at all. It was in my top 6 images. DAMN. I find it just outstanding in all regards.

Like the isolation of the white against the neck and background. Crisp, clean shot and a decent result in a competitive challenge.

Now put the 100-400 down and back slowly away from the raptor centre Steve - how am I going to get any of my zoo shots over 6 if you keep hogging those slots ;-)

Them voters like to see the sharp, crisp veins in their eagle feathers, Steve. The blown/blurred head feathers hurt this in a very competitive challenge. Still a strong finish.

Seriously... Some of you guys'n'gals must've tamed eagle types to come and pose for you whenever you feel like it. I don't know if I can stand another eagle, shot with a 70-200mm lens... THIS BETTER BE SHOT WITH SOMETHING BIGGER! Full score from me....

is that like mouse fur sticking out of his beak? Nice eagle shot.

Spectacular focus. I don't usually find eagle shots very interesting but this is phenomenal. I can see this used as a commercial photo for something very American, since it is the national bird (or at least I think that's a bald eagle) It has strength and perfect use of DOF and light. 9
