I had never seen large rocks on a beach before. This was truly amazing. I had been to Venice Beach, but have never taken photos on the water... only on the beach-walk (where the shops are)

Slightly OOF and horizon tilted a little.

a bit boring, I'm afraid. I might like it better if the wave hadn't already broken, maybe in mid-break, like cresting.

The horizon is tilted here...try to allign it with your horizontal in your viewfinder before taking the picture.

I gave this a four. You are too far away from your subject, the breaking waves, to make a strong visual statement about it. What remains is a decent snapshot but not a great photo. You might try to get as close as you can on your belly to capture the waves in a visually exciting way. I live in a state surrounded by ocean (Rhode Island -- the Ocean State, natch) and this isn't giving me a visual sense of the power of waves breaking over huge rocks.

Nice shot - could also try zooming in a little closer to the breaking water and lengthening your shutter speed to smooth out and accentuate the movement in the water. A polarising filter would have added some colour to the sky.

Very soothing picture. I might have liked to have seen a bit more central focus or subject, but very crisp, clean shot!
