Reading the newspaper...well not really...but posed to be reading the newspaper. I actually DID read the newspaper, but not when the shot was taken....

Single light through transparent umbrella from side. Dark background.

Processing: RAW conversion, curves, desaturated using hue/sat, gradient layer added (20% opacity), USM at large radius, resize for web, USM at small radius.

Composition: I like the positioning of the paper and the fact that it is not disrupting the view of the face.

Lighting/Exposure: A little more (or less) on the left side of the photo and this would be perfect.

Pose: Very convincing.

Suggestions for Improvements: A slight turn of the head left or right. That's IT :)

I really like the fact that you set this up but it still looks like a candid. I feel a bit like I am spying on you. :) Very nice work!

ETA: Sorry to hear about your computer!! Hope you make it back soon! :)

I like the lighting. I don't always like blurred things in the foreground but it's perfect here. :~)

verry crisp shot. I like that you can see the print but its oof. I would like to see a bit more light on the left side. Maybe a white reflector?
