It's a dark & stormy night. I'm driving along a 2-lane blacktop on my way home. I have a little Panasonic TZ3 I can operate with one hand. I set it to Night Scenery & turn off the Anti-Shake option. I hold the camera above the steering-wheel & press the shutter every now & then as I drive along, eager to get home & see what I got. Some of the most interesting shots occur on the darkest parts of the road. I like the hot colors, the haze of ambient light made by the rain in the air reflecting my headlights, the strange effect of the raindrops on the windshield. I like the element of chance & luck. For me, photography is not a way to record an impartial, literal reality but a means of emotional self-expression. I hope this stirs your imagination--all comments welcome.

Thanks for the comments. It helps if it's a dark night (clouds) but the water in the air as well as the doppler effect of my moving truck are what make the magic. The gold color is from those little yellow reflective marker-bump thingies they stick on the road between the double yellow lines.

Whoa. What a neat idea! This is awesome. It must have been super dark out for this to come out so cleanly (I'm looking at your settings...f3.3?! I would have expected there to be a lot less contrast in this image, though I guess the 100 ISO helps).
