This is an edit for

I have not done that mucnh to it. The biggest thing was to add some space to the left of the ducks, flatten the image and clone out some of the lines. I did some curves and levels. Duplicated the background layer, set the blending mode to multiply and changed fill and opacity until I liked it. Cropped the top off and added border. I think this is pretty much it.

Very good choice of crop from your original and I really do like the way the borders work on this. The mist is gorgeous.

Love the crop and the border. I am intrigued as to how you extended the water on the left!

Composition is just wonderful, and what a difference the crop makes form the original. I'm usually not a fan of big borders, but it does work the nearly silhouetted ducks. There seems to be some sharpening halos around the high contrast edges.

Each version has its own merits. I like the horizontal composition better but I love the mist in the vertical one. They are both lovely.

The mist on the water, gives your picture a really interesting effect, brings a type of mood to the composition. I think what you have done, works well, good photo!

Knowing you'd added space at the left, I can see some repeated patterns of ripples. If I hadn't known, I wouldn't notice, probably.
I like the mistiness of it.

I kind of like the full vertical composition better, though that makes it more a "landscape" than a "bird" shot. There is some haloing around the upper duck, though I see it's naturally present in the original; you processing has accentuated the effect somewhat.

I can see where you wanted to capture that mist in the original. The crop and border tho is a great addition. Adds more drama and you can still see some of that mist by the rock. Very nice.

Your change in crop was an excellent choice here, it gave a much nicer composition. The added contrast and border add nicely to the image as well.

That's lovely. I really think the border adds to it as well.

I like this crop a lot better. It brings my eye back to the ducks instead of wandering to the top of the image trying to figure out what is in the background. I like the mist rising off the water. I might also try to bring out a bit more of the red and orange tones reflecting on the water. I think, all in all, a good edit.

This is a good edit, but I feel you have lost some of the atmosphere caught in the original. I liked the rising mist and ethereal quality.

This edit does bring the ducks out more and is still a misty shot. Not sure if I really like widescreen borders, but it is matter of personal taste. Good effort:)

The crop really works, and I like the increased contrast very much. I love the mist rising off the water, very nice image!

I wrote my editing steps as a comment instead of writing them in image details, edited to fix. :)
