This was taken at about 12:01AM on New Year's Day. Note how we're partying like crazy!

I wanted to do a year of fisheye to really learn how to use this lens and so far it's quite interesting. The camera said that the focus points were the wall in back, girl in center, and sofa on the left. Essentially everything that's not in focus. It was shot at F/2.8, but at 10mm I would expect more to be in focus. I checked the DOF calculator and if it focused where it said it did, everything from a few feet in front to infinity should have been in focus. Maybe it's not the lens but the camera that gave bad information.

Nice to see a complete room in one photo and some well known photos on the wall. Looking forward to your 52 fisheyes.

Fishy vision is sure fun to play with. I think including the right pole and left wall corner really accentuates the fishy feeling, which I think can be a little disconcerting for viewers. Perhaps a crop from the right side of the drapes to the left wall corner (or square would work) would mitigate that feeling. Or just step in to the room further to avoid hard curves from normally straight objects along the sides. Then again, if you want that warped feeling this works just fine ;)

Now that's excitement! :-) I think the fisheye will be a lot of fun for you. Looking forward to what you discover with it!

It'll be fun to see you progress with this. It's a funny shot after reading your comments :) I like the warp on the room.

Lots to explore in these fisheye shots since you can fit so much into the frame. I like how the shot is framed on the sides by the wall corner and post. And those photos on the wall... I recognize the one of the two girls! The light seems a tad bright on the left, but it looks like you had a relaxing evening with family... the perfect way to ring in a new year!

It always amazes me what you can fit into one frame with a fisheye! Looking forward to your fisheye collection!

A year of fisheyes. Wow! That'll be interesting. I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

On this one, I like the idea of getting the entire, smallish room into a single shot. I'm wondering about the focus issues. It seems to me like the camera couldn't find the actual focus points, and just gave up.

Oh I am really looking forward to seeing what you can do with a fisheye. That lens has always interested me, but I wasn't sure I could make anything look really cool with it enough to justify the cost. I'm betting you will inspire me greatly -- as you always do. I like your house :) It looks warm and cozy, and actually, the exact way I like to spend New Year's Eve. Sooooooooo who is who ???

For your depth of field issue... I think that most of this shot is in focus... although it's hard to tell at this size, I believe the issue may be more to do with simply the distance away that things are... there are limits to resolution as well.

Nice wide angle shot. Good exposure. I wish everyone was facing the camera.
