 | Every Sunday in Santa Barbara, the Veterans for Peace set up a memorial on the beach honoring Americans who lost their lives in the Iraq conflict. They put up 3000+ crosses each week. It started as a smaller project, but unfortunately the number of crosses has increased to a point where they can no longer assemble as many crosses as there are deaths resulting from the conflict.

 edit to add:
I had mixed feelings about the shadows. I wanted the late afternoon feel to it, but the shadows were so strong. As I shot, the shadows just fell into place.

		| | Great shot....very emotional. From just a straight composition point of view, I like the patterns, contrast and the shadows are great. Edit: just noticed this is your new personal best...congratulations!!

		| | Stunning. Works in color, but that would have made a powerful black and white statement too. |

		| | Thought provoking and reflects the view of the masses. the shadows are perfectly aligned. Did you wait for that and/or did you try it at different times?
