I really didn't see the wink until I made the b&w conversion. Taken outside of a cafe that was not quite open. There is a guy sitting in the car, but he got lost in the lensbaby.

This is loaded with atmosphere and so very interesting...something I'd walk past a million times and never see this great photo!

Very Noir. I wonder if there's gumshoe doing some stalking in the VW?

Yup, another vote for 'Noir' Germaine. Just waiting for the black cloaked guy to go tripping through the scene.

Oooh - it's a love affair caught on the sly, between the bug and the windows. Very cool!

Oh I get it now. LOL That is wonderful. I'm such a bug fan.

I like that, "lost in the lensbaby" - what other subjects I wonder have succumbed to its power? For some reason here, the LB effect on those lit windows makes me think it's a split second before an explosion - perhaps the car is closing its eyes as an involuntary response. :)

Herby's winking at me:) I have really enjoyed the mood and tone of your shots so far, very nicely done.

All these So-Cal Noir street surveillance shots of yours are turning into one of the real features of this thread. They are like cheap crime novels from the 1950's, which were so much more full of the juices of life than the oh-so-politically-correct-and-sensitive-and-inclusive-and-non-judgmental novels of more recent times. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh with the "cheap" epithet, but I meant it as a compliment. I think I'll elevate you to Elmore Leonard status, so there's no doubt about how admirable I think they are.
