I found out that Weegees (Arthur Fellig) last home was in my neighborhood, Hells Kitchen, just up my street on 47th. A few moths ago I sat on his stoop, read the NYT and drank my coffee. I didn't feel any power generating from the building but it was still inspirational and I thought it would be a nice gesture to stop by and say hello.

I believe in ghosts.

Ah. An idea. A longer exposure with someone walking down the steps so you get your ghost, only Lensbabied! I like the swish of the rail.

Nice placement of focus. It looks exactly the kind of thing that could be haunted, haunted in a nice way.

Steve, I loved this image when it opened but it has so much more meaning to it after learning about Weegee, I wonder what he's have made of the LB lol. The blur on the rail leading to the door helps tell the story.

I think that it's so cool to visit places where well known people have lived. This is very cool. I like the LB's ghostly effect.

It's kind of nice to go to places where people that we admire lived and worked.
I like how the Lensbaby adds an eerie feel to some pictures and with your story, I get that feeling.

Oh yes. Me too. This is almost scary but not really because the ghost is safely guarding the door. :~)

I saw a doco with one of the later NY street guys (Meyerowitz?) talking about Weegee the Famous. Had a collection of Weegee prints, as well, and some pictures of Weegee himself with a Speed Graphic the size of a truck battery. I'd like to have had that coffee break with you.

I think this is fantastic! I also think the LB works beautifully with architecture. The placement of the blur/sharpness is spot on. Keep 'em coming! :o)

Very cool place and an interesting figure. I guess Jude Law's character in Road to Perdition is loosely based on some of Weegee's special photography and knack for being on the scene right away. The effect does well for the context, adding a ghostly feel to the shot. Thanks for the reference, I'll have to look up some more of his work.

I didn't know who Arthur Fellig was, but now I do. Thank you for that. Makes this interesting photo even more intriguing.
