I know, I know, this shot is "too" - too dark, shadowy, blurry, on and on. But this appeals to me anyway. :)

I really like the oval created by the branches and the light flare, it cradles the image. The shiny bits in the grass is very cool too!

I don't think this is too dark; in fact, it really makes this composition work. I really like where you put your point of sharpness. Nice! Happy New Year!!!
