It is hard to tell because the only context of size is the underexposed fence on the far right, but this wave splash is about eighty feet tall. The fence is chest high.

As a native Oregonian, I love this picture. It is an image that takes some absorbtion to appreciate. A 10-second, vote, and move on just does not do it justice - it has depth and staying power that other images just don't. I love the subtle colors in the sky and in the ocean, the ruggedness of the rocks, power of the wave, and serenity of the sky. This is a picture that could hang in a living room for years, and one not get tired of it or fail to find new interest and inspiration from it.

cool shot. To go along with your description of the image, I think it would have been more powerful/dramatic with some scale (besides the hard to see fence) because that wave is huge!

I like how the brightest part of the sky is obsured by the crashing water.

A very weak sky for a strong foreground.

Oregon? Very very nice. Not sure I like the vignette, though. 8 I think.
