This Abigail and my father Lincoln. Lighting is nice, although I think I would like to see some highlights in Abigail's. Some dodging would have been nice. I used two strobes for the lighting. Overall, I really love this photograph. Great emotion. I think should have stopped down a bit for a bit more DOF or altered the focal point. In hindsight, it appears that focal point is on Abigail.

PP: RAW conversion in LR2 with slight WB adjustment and crop, exported to CS4, BW conversion (green filter), curves (med con preset, bumped the highlight end of the curve, level for more highlight bump, warming filter, resize, USM, sampled Abigails skin for the inner border, then final black border. Save for web.

Ben, what a great photo! Your dad certainly makes "elderly" look good! You come from a handsome gene pool :) And Abigail. . .ohhhhh she makes my heart hurt. She is so full of childhood joy!

How lovely. My only gripe is that the light is too flat to the front, and their edges disappear into the background. One key light off the the side behind them would have given a bit more definition to his shoulders and the top of her head.

This is priceless. I love his expression. The fact that the girl is turned away does a great job of keeping the emphasis on him and what he is doing. The tones on him are perfect whereas the light on her appears to be just a hair too light.
