I like the way the lensbaby made a dynamic image out of a very static snapshot.

I like how the LB makes the person stand out and the background less obtrusive and busy...the only thing I don't like about the LB for people is that I can't get it tack sharp on the person very well but I love how it enhances the background.

I think you got it right Juli, the LB can help out ordinary images (it can also turn average into junk). Forgetting the frond for a moment I think this is a way cool holiday pic :)

I like it for people too. Nice looking shot with the purples and blues.

I'll join the agreers: Lensbaby has great potential as a portrait lens. ON the Lensbaby site there's some excellent examples of pros using the LB for emotive portraits. Keep plugging away at it!

I agree that the Lensbaby will be great for people. And I also agree that this is a dynamic looking shot. I even get a sense of motion.

LOL - he is laughing at your funny looking lens. :)
I think this is excellent! And I think Deb is insensitive to people with palm fronds growing out of their head. :P

I think it'll work well for people - will isolate them or blend them, depending on how you see the situation. Now the palm frond growing out of his head... :-) (Actually, kinda looks like a feather in his cap!)
