Day 28 of Whatevers

This is my parrot, Hildy, who has taken a liking to sharing beverages with me. No caffeine or alcohol (though she would be happy to try either). When I pour something, anything, she immediately flies over and lands on my shoulder and gets all excited and dances down my arm while saying "Wanna' sip?" repeatedly. When she gets close she stretches her neck out as far as she can trying to stick her beak in the cup. If I'm not careful she'll try to take the cup!

Did this in monochrome so it wouldn't be so evident that her chest is devoid of feathers. She was that way when we adopted her and while she occasionally grows some back, the slightest little stress and she starts plucking. Not unusual for an African Grey from what I've read, but we didn't get her for her looks ;-)

BTW, after taking her sip she'll often look me right in the eye and say, "Mmmm; it's delicious!" Hildy is very entertaining and affectionate. And usually messy and demanding, and occasionally obnoxious, but we love her. She's an amazingly intelligent creature.

Looks like she's hamming it up for you. Obviously not camera shy. Very interesting story about her antics.

What a lovely photo. I love her inquisitive gaze. Your dof is beautiful, with the focus on her bright little eyes.

That's just about too cute for words. I love the softness of it. I'd love to see her go through her paces. She says such cute things!!!

Really great use of shallow DOF to isolate the viewer to the eyes. The black and white works very well too. The top of her head is almost glowing though. I love the story, she sounds like such a character.
