so I wake up one morning and hear my mom scream a little, pause, and then say, "Leah come here and look at this!" I went into the office and saw a huge praying mantis sitting on the window sil inside of the room. I was puzzled at first since we never see them in our area, but then I remembered that we put an egg casing in the backyard a year ago to try to deal with aphids. However I only saw one of the ones that hatched which was less an inch in length, and this one was 6 inches! I guess it really grew up over that year. I wish we had more of them though, I like the way they move and how alien-like they look.
