The harsh shadow from the flash is distracting to me.

The light on the face is good, but the shadow on the backdrop is poor. It gives this a snapshot feel that it does not deserve.

Nice B&W - lighting could have been diffused a little

I don't care for the harsh lighting, but compositionally I like the portrait.

This suffers from too-much sharpening.

The harsh front on lighting hasn't helped here. It's caused parts of the face to become very bright and left a distracting shadow on the background.

Great expression and interesting head position. I think a bit more contrast might do this B&W better. The harsh shadow on the BG is distracting.

I think it would have been better without the flash shaddow

Right. Next it will be trifocals - maybe the kind with no lines.

An interesting portrait. Be careful of the sharpness.

a good shot that is hurt by oversharpening and the harsh shadow on the wall made by the flash /5

Good subject and expression. On camera flash is very harsh and flat.

I think this picture is not so bad, but maybe it is oversharpened, something in the quality of the image is somehow bothersome for the eyes.
