 The wind creates these waves at the edges of small hills, or around any holes or trench in the ground, by blowing the snow across the land. We even have a verb for it: in French "poudrer", in English "powdering".

For processing, I converted to B&W, ran the Mr. Contrast filter, Shadow/highlights to get the right amount of detail in the snow (it may look like posterization but it really is the snow's texture), then added some sparkle with the brush to the snowflakes that were glittering.

In a typical winter, I'll usually take numerous shots of these waves. Each one is unique and I find them really beautiful - one nice things about winter! Enjoy!

Cornices! NIce curves and contrast. It might be fun to shoot one down the "tube". give it a surfing feel.
