Dropped my camera on the carpet and my 50mm 1.8 came apart. Anyone ever put one of these back together?

Added: Thanks to some tips from Zigomar I was able to fix this lens and it now works fine again.

That's pretty neat. I'm glad I don't have to drop mine to find out what it looks like on the inside ;-)

Yes I did. It works perfectly, just as before I've dropped it. It's a pain to get it back buy if you're serious about doing it drop me a PM.

YES! I did the same exact thing. Dropped the lens, only onto a floor, not carpet, and it came apart into two pieces just like this. Put it back together again and it worked for awhile. Then it wouldn't focus. Less than a year old so I sent it to Canon to have it repaired and they didn't really seem to mind that it had been dropped. Apparently these things do come apart pretty easily.

Oh the horror! I think Humpty Dumpty is dead. Lucky this is one of the cheapest lenses available. Still sucks though. Worth a try to put it back together. Or use it for the next SP challenge - submit this photo and title it "I tried" Hahhaaaahaaa. Just kidding. I'm such an ass. :)
