Im sorry, i shouldnt have taken this photo. i just cant make myself delete it. this was an extremely personal momment that i intruded apon. it really saddens me, but im glad i captured that personal emotion.

This is one of the only memorials that gets me teary eyed by just looking at it. the atmosphere is horrendus. a mix of stupid touristiness and a terrible sadness. i hated that i was there with a much of moron teenagers, they can be so damn disrespectful. this man left when after we arrived. i think he knew i took his photo. he just looked at me and i just had to look away.

This is an outstanding image. Yes, a highly personal moment, but it serves to help us all remember. Thanks for posting it.

This brings back the first time I saw this memorial in person. If you know anything at all about the conflict and the memorial you just can't help being drawn into the sadness of all those deaths as the names on the wall just keep coming. My father was the navigator on missions bringing some of those kids back to the States for burial ... hell of a job.

It's a great moment well captured.

You took this because that what we do - we record life.

I'm sure you were respectful.

This is an excellent image. I understand your hesitation, both with taking the picture and sharing it, but I'm glad you did both. I find the reflection of the young man at the edge of the frame really adds to this - he cannot know the depth of the emotion of the man touching the wall, but perhaps it will cause him to pause for a second and think.

This is a very strong emotional image. I like this shot quite a bit, the reflection is very nice and the composition is nice.
