Day 11 of Whatevers
Rainy, dreary day and though I tried a few puddle pictures I didn't like any of them. I think they needed Joy, and sparkles ;-) So I scrounged inside for a subject and decided on an African Violet. Cool hairy leaves and lately I'm paying attention to texture for some reason (I blame all you overlay addicts!).
had the 36mm teleconverter on; lit with an overhead light and a desk lamp right above the leaves.
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, levels, white balance, increased contrast, dodged hairy bits some, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction. |

| I love shallow DOF. The only thing I don't like it on is food. :) This is very serene looking. I can almost feel those little hairs on that leaf. Very nice focus. |

| African violets texture of their leaves are unique.. Wouldn't of guessed it's an african violet leaf.. |

| Prickly. Amazing what we miss until we see a macro. Great details and I like the mix of the amber brown with the vivid green. Narrow DOF is my fav. :~) |

| Sure is rainy. I haven't come up with a shot yet. I like this one. It gives the viewer a POV not normally seen with a plant. |
