I took the rubbish out before going to work. It was frosty. I had my camera with me, so I took a shot of Mt Nantai, the highest mountain in the prefecture (if you don't count the one on the border with the neighbouring prefecture).
I climbed the stairs of one of the buildings to take it, so there's the shadow of the building on the rice field.

Wow, this is not what I imagined Japan to be. I've never been there, but I guess we are used to seeing the very populated city shots. Thanks for sharing, nicely done.

Such a beautiful and clear day. I'm used to seeing photos of a busy Tokyo city and don't often see the nature scenes of the country. Very nice.

Wow. I can't believe that's the view from where you live. How cool is that?

Beautiful mountains and sky. That house certainly doesn't fit the stereotype of Japan. If I hadn't known where you were, I'd have guessed Colorado or one of our mountain states.

Nice colours in this David and a lot to see. You really do have a very picturesque country. The house on the left is not the style I would have imagined to see in the Japanese countryside though. It's architecture is very western looking.

What beautiful scenery you have! And I'm in agreement with others, not what I think of when I picture Japan.

Beautiful mountainscape. Did I just invent that word? :)

It's fun to see a different view from Japan. It seems that all we ever get to see are city shots with lots of lights, just like Times Square.

The shadow is the footprint of man's attempts at dominion over nature. It's huge, but is nothing in comparison to the mountains in the distance which are bigger, more beautiful, more lasting. There; that's my philosophical musing for the day ;-)

This is beautiful. I agree its not what i think of when i think of Japan. Thanks for sharing it with us. I like the shadow in the foreground, its helps pull my eye into the photo.

This is lovely! This is not what I think of when I think of Japan. I think of crowded cities. The house and the minivan look so American.
