This is from a studio shoot I did with a friend of mine who used to model. I am not sure how I ended up coming up with this concept, but I wanted to do something about soil and plant life. Then I found a watering can in my backyard and realized the color scheme matched this dress she had. I had her just hold it and was so intrigued by the look on her face that I started shooting just her holding it. Then I though it would be interesting to add the touch of her pouring water into empty space. I really like the result and hope that people respond well to it.

The pouring watering can was such an inspired touch. Beautiful model; I like all the brown tones though I wonder if it's too overpowering. Maybe a touch more color or white somewhere (milk in the watering can?). Just an idea, anyhow, I would have placed this effort much higher.

What happened that makes her oblivious to the water pouring out of the can? I love images that make me think of what the photographer as thinking while planning composing the shot. Exciting image! 8

I like this.

Interesting choice of colours and processing. It gives an old fashioned feeling to it. It's almost monochrome due to all of the brown in this photo. The skin looks a bit unnatural, but overall it works for the feel of the shot.

I like the understated nature of this portrait. Beautiful job of blending all the brown tones and adding a brown cast to the shot. Nice contemplative look and I like the display of her hands. My only nitpick is I'd rather not have water coming out of the can. Just seems to be a distraction where the viewer scratches their head and asks, why? 9

She looks like she is lost in thought about a lover and simply does not notice the water pouring out of the can in her hands. I like it. It is simple and well lit yet evokes an emotion. Great job!

I like the portrait and the subdued delicacy of the model and the way she is holding her glance and watering can. On the other hand, the photo is very crisp and somehow takes away from the rustic feeling I get from the other elements. Wonder in black and white or sepia how it would turn out.

Wonderful lighting and I dig the color. Good choice keeping the dripping water within the area of her skirt. I think if it had been extended it would have made it more of a distracting element rather than a supportive one.
