Basically threw the rings down on the kitchen table, arranged them, bounced some flash off the ceiling and a few other reflective surfaces, and voila...
Duh, the ISO was at 400, instead of 100, thus the grain / noise. It helped the flash expose everything well at f5.6, though.
I'm hoping for a 5.4. My luck hasn't been much lately!
Editing... crop, Topaz Labs Adjust Filter (not sure which preset), add border, resize, sharpen, curves. Yeah, I know, bad workflow.

| I like the background you used here, but there's something strange going on at the top edge of the rings...a bit too much sharpening maybe? |

A ring doesn't make the greatest photo but two is better - at least in this case as I feel they could easily tell a story. Father-son, buddies whatever...
I love the texture on the surface/background and the grainy look. All very appropriate!
All the details comes out very well with the lighting you provided. At the same time it does not look too sharp. Good use of a shallow DOF.
In a way so simple but clearly well thought out and a lot of attention to detail. A well deserved 10! |

| There's quite a bit of noise and halos around the rings. Not sure whether either was intentional, but to me it distracts from the image. |

| Cute. I get where you were going with the background but, it seems "half done" which kind of makes me look more at the blurring of the background than the actual items. Still, a really nice shot and message! |

| Nice interpretation. I suspect some will not like the noise/grain, but it provides a pleasing background. |
