Love the emotion in the eyes, this is a very stong image, Nice work! Edit to add: There is smoke showing, and a jazzy picture automatically makes me think of a smokey night club (imo) and if you were to give more room above the head it would have made up for the space on the right. I really thought this would have been front page if not top 10 at least, I like this idea more than just plain smoke. There are tons of pictures on this site that don't get the credit they deserve. (Its a pisser but its something we deal with.)

This is excellent. I like the look in your eyes - makes me think there is jazz being played here. Toning works very well, too. Nice work!

Definitely you suffered because the smoke wasn't the main subject. But, it is still a great image and if it was in a FS I'll bet it would have scored way higher. I love it.

No vote. I can't bring myself to penalize this shot because the smoke is hardly visible, and almost totally blends into the background. Great expression and tantalizing lighting on the sax. Makes me want to sit with my eyes closed and just listen. This would make a proud addition to any portfolio.

Beautiful colours and shadows. Wish the smoke was more evident to more obviously match the topic.

excellent lighting, exposure, and composition. his expressions are very emotive (looks very sad btw). not sure about the sepia though. simple bw would have worked better imo.

outstanding image! I am always torn with a shot like this deciding how much of the shadows to expose. Too much and you loose the mystery, too little and you loose frame of reference. This image looks almost perfect, I might have exposed a touch more in those dark mids. well done!

I'm not a fan of the yellow tone and smoke has quite a minor role. It stays a very good portrait though.

Great image and duotone work. I wish the smoke had more presence.
