I agree with increasing aperture to decrease the presence of background subject matter, and also maybe a slightly lower perspective. |

Good capture of action. I'd have liked to see a tighter crop though. |

Hi Kat,
My comment on this shot is two fold. First you have good action, but there are a couple of problems with it. When shooting backlight you need to either meter for the faces and not worry about the backgrounds, or find a way to fill(flash). You might also be able to pull some detail out of the shadows. Also watch your horizons, there is a sense of downhill to the right. I think I'd also crop a touch tighter to lose some of the space to the sides. Good start! |

Looks like tough light from the sun. Great stopped action, I like how the player is being surrounded by the other 3 :) The building in the background is a shame, the exif says f/1.6 which is a little strange, I assume you were more like f/5.6. If your aperture was smaller then the building may have disappeared more. Also, it may have been up hill but it looks a little tilted to me. Maybe a different shot could be a portrait shot cropped right in on the single player with the arms attacking |

Good football shot. Love how you caught the action of the defender trying to rip the ball loose. |
