Passage. Time, distance, this image makes me think of this old man, taking this same walk down this same street, past these same buildings for decades without fail. I don't know, call me korny :-)
Anyways, I shot this on a shoot I did in Saginaw with bmartuch earlier this month. We had a great time, and I got some cool shots that day.
I knew from the get go that this was gonna be b/w. I like the tonal range, and the dark-light balance. I fear the man doesn't pop out enough, but my wife assures me that it is the first thing she sees in the shot.
In ps-auto levels, crop, high pass, gradient map for b/w conversion, curves, levels adj layer to set black and white points, levels adj layer with mask to lighten the man up, resize, usm twice, border, sfw
thanks for checking out my pic :-)

Wow, great shot Geno! I'm not voting on this because I know it's yours. The composition and the contrast are great. I've always been a sucker for high contrast B&W.
One of my favourite images from the challenge. The title is fitting too. Nice for not having any modern artefacts like cell phones, air conditioners, etc.
Nice choice for b&w. However, I think the person in the photo is lost - blending too much with the background. The lower right portion of the photo is too dark & cluttered for her/him to make an impact.
excellent contrast & textures in the shot. 6 , unfortunately I feel that the person in the shot did not really add to it. I think he blended too much into the shot.
I would have loved to have a model in red with the appropriate pose in this setting.....
