Challenge: Free Study 2008-10 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Lens: Tokina AF 11-16mm f/2.8 116 AT-X Pro DX for Canon
Location: Windsor Great Park
Date: Oct 12, 2008
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/15
Galleries: Transportation, Blur
Date Uploaded: Oct 31, 2008

The camera was mounted onto the frame using the same manfrotto clamp I used to mount the camera onto the roll bar of my Westfield. Shot @ 11mm using the 2 second timer so I can get my hand back on the handlebars.

I'm not 100% happy with the shot but I've not been able to re-shoot it and I've got nothing else so here it is anyway!

Shot in RAW, then created 3 exposures to try to recover some of the washed out sky, used 3 layers in photoshop with layer masks. levels and curves, resized, usm, selective usm on handlebars, sfw.

Prediction, 5.5

Ack! Congratulations; you made me dizzy (or dizzier than I was a moment ago, anyway).

It's amazing how you feel like you are riding the bike. Good Job.

Wonderful way to shoot this in that you are taking the viewer with you on the ride.

I tried exactly the same thing on my bike last week for the motion blur challenge. Yours turned out much better! A bike vibrates more than I thought.

I love the feeling of forward going motion in this shot. Great angle and perspective. Well done.
