 This image started its life as a picture of a beaten up dead crab on a rock. Awful picture but the sun was shining through part of the shell, bringing out the colours. I selected part of that and did the usual stuff to make the best of it. I then doubled the canvas size to one side, duplicated, moved and flipped the selection, and kept repeating that process horizontally and vertically until I had a 'carpet' I added a border and copied the layer to the clipboard. Then I slightly enlarged and blurred the background layer, pasted the copied layer and added a final border.

Interesting. Looks like a rug of some kind. How'd you do that?
