Steve asked why I took this. I have been trying to concentrate on light to isolate the subject. I am trying to find spots where there is either reflected light or have the subject placed in the brightest part of the image. For me this does a couple of things, it allows me to slow down and look for these spots, and study buildings to see how light bounces down to the ground and how that reacts with the natural direction of sunlight. In this instance the light caught a moment that must seem normal to every first parent, a look of stress and hurry while the newborn enjoys the brisk walk through the city.

Late commenting so not reading others comments - sorry if I am repeating others views:

After reading what you have posted, the child is the focal point of the shot.. he looks adorable and is happy and glowing - that's a given so let's look a litte bit deeper into this shot.. dad looks a little bit rushes.. why is that? well lots of reasons come to mind.. he is late to day care.. he is late to work .. whatever.. then there is the woman off to the left.. she is out of the light .. but not out of the shot.. is she the mom? she is not feeling as stressed.. she is just bopping along.. why is that? interesting is it not? use to be a man that would be not interested - now it is the woman... have we really come so far? leave it up to you all .....

The child's "sunny" expression suits the sunshine that he is lit by. Leaves no doubt as to who is the main subject. Nice contrast with his careworn parents.

Welcome to our little party, Joe. Steve keeps us on our toes around here. I like this. Great smile on the kid, not a care in the world, while the presumed father seems to have a lot on his mind. Nice processing too.

Good lighting and wonderful colors here. The very happy child being carefully balanced by papa.

Joe-What is it about this shot that you like ...or why did you take it?

No judgment on my part. You left no notes and I'm curious what you think.

Very rich colors. I like the light on the boy's face.

great capture..what makes it for me is the joy of the boy's face, and that wonderful light on his face, while it angles off and behind his dad and sharpens his look as well

The anonymity of the the woman to the left and man to the right is very suiting. Also, the child is so happy and the man looks ...well...like a new father, a bit overwhelmed...ha!

Oh and welcome Joe!
