This is Tiffany. I knew I wanted to do a concept in which I painted her up to her neck, but then when I did it in red I wanted to bring some red up to her face. I played with painting on her eye and it took 5 tries to settle on a design I liked. After I shot it I realized it looks a lot like a shot from Larus's hero series, which was definitely not my goal at all. Either way, it was fun to shoot.

This is so visually striking.. I'm not sure about the "hero" reference, but my son's girlfriend tells me red is considered to be a lucky color in Asian cultures, so I can imagine that this image would invoke a visceral reaction. This is a stunning, beautiful image.
