 I expect a validation request on this. This is a popular downtown Pittsburgh lunchtime eatery as seen reflected in a stainless steel sign across the street. The lighting allowed it, so I set the shutter to 1/6 to get some passing figures in blur.

Shot in RAW. Then in PSP X2, crop, mirror image, curves (on RGB for cross-processed effect), clarify, Sharpen, resize, JPG.

POST: As predicted, I got my validation request. It passed, obviously. The image is misleading because the perceived sweeping horizontal blur isn't motion blur at all; it's actualy distortion from the irregular surface of the reflective stainless steel sign, enhanced by the highly acute angle from which I captured the reflection. The only true motion blur in the image is from the passing figure in the foreground.

A lukewarm score/placing, but nine tens, three favorites (and counting?) and a litany of great comments. Can't argue with that! Thanks everyone.

Just saw this in "pick your fav" thread. Wow - what an excellent image!! Especially cool that you achieved this strange motion blur effect by photographing a distorted reflection. I totally love it.

My God, the whole thing is a reflection. What a fascinating effect, and not affecting the figures in the background. Which also are not so affected by the long exposure. Everything happening on the right, and just a big whoosh to the left, just as the subject steps onto the magic manhole. Wish I had voted and had the wit to add to your tens.

Personally I think this was very underscored here. This is a great shot and one of my highest scoring. Definitely expected to see it with a much higher score.
