 I think this may be a female Bluewinged Teal, or maybe a Greenwinged Teal. The Mallard hens all have purple where she has that lovely teal color on her wings. No males in sight other than Mallards and Canada Geese so I can't be sure.

She's quite lovely. She's definitely not a mallard, but I'm clueless as to just what she is. Great clarity, and I love that you caught her midstep and in a rather curious pose, as though she's trying to figure out just what it is you are up to.
