What fun this was! There were only 3 that were even close to being in focus, this was the best. I would have liked a more robust blur pattern but it was difficult to spin fast enough to get the blur and the focus.

As requested:

You need a second person to swing the child. I stood behind my cousin's husband while he spun my daughter. I placed the camera just in front of his chest. We all twirled together. I had my camera in burst mode and fired off about 5 shots for each attempt. The trick is getting the focus down. I had Abigail stand about the same distance as she would be during the actual spinning. I then focused from the point of view and distance I would be during the spinning. Once locked in, I put the camera in manual focus. Then spin and fire!

I converted it to black in white due to poor lighting and dull background colors. The black and white hides the poor choice of background.

Terrific energy, full of joy. Excellent in black and white. Great sharpness and blur too -- they're nicely balanced. Obviously I can't say enough good things...

Great shot, great subject. A tad boring light and no spark in the eye. A 7
