I am sure many people will view this as a stretch for affluence, but I believe that the fact that you can spend millions of dollars to build a telescope in a remote location for no commercial application is the definition of affluence.

This is an amazing capture, the detail is impeccable and the colors simply beautiful. I gave you a 6 based on the quality of the image. I'd be curious to know what organization or individuals built this observatory and how it is being used.

Wow...no tangible return on investment? There is not enough space to list all of that particular telescope's discoveries but the knowledge it provides is priceless.

I got a lot of comments asking how this fits affluence. How does an expensive house or car or jewelry show affluence. Someone spent millions of dollars to build this in a remote location for no tangible return on investment. And what does the biggest donor get out of it...to name it, that is affluence. But thank you for all of the comments. This is the only photography session that made me dizzy, or was that the lack of oxygen at 14,000 ft.

Not sure what you are trying to convey about affluence but this is one very pretty photo. I love how there are various shaped clouds at different altitudes. The sky has a beautiful glow to it too.

I liked the gentle muting of the earth color with the pastel sky. The pic conveys to me the *end of time* or tranquility or something similar, but I could not tie it easily to them theme

wow! what a fantastic view. Great shot, beautiful clouds and color. The dome gives a little something extra to keep it from being 'just another sunset'. Good job.

nice picture, but not sure how this meets the challenge

This is a great photo, however I am unsure of why a Telescope really fits the c hallenge....
Ignoring that though
The colour through the sky is great. The foreground/hills though are too dark for my liking. The Dome looks good, but slightly lighter would not have hurt. Shame about the Steel tower in front of the Dome.

Looks like an observatory. I'm not sure how this is showing affluence, unless you are applying that to an organization that has the money to build such a facility. It IS a very nice view.
