This is a random Street portrait of a person taken on Queen Street Toronto. I am showing it because I loved the wires above the subjects massed hair reflecting an inner turmoil evident in the facial expression, and because I really liked it...compositonally, lighting wise and colourwise.

I've got to agree with posthumous on this one! Fantastic catch.

And yes, the colour and composition are stunning. Much more going on than you point out in your notes.

Fantastic shot, I was really hoping it would have scored higher.

I thought this was a fabulous gutsy shot. A queen of sorts on Queen St.

She is a goddess, mediating between the world of concrete and the sky of wires. She gets a Posthumous Yellow Ribbon.

Looks like an ambush image ... she does not appear to be to happy about it

this photo makes me wonder what would happen know Cindy Sherman and Lee Freidlander had a kid.

Coming back to comment only:

In my opinion, the fact that you were caught out taking the photo adds to it.. the expression in the face, the catch light in the eyes, the abundant lipstick would have been lost and they are the story really... she looks weary.. a hard life I think.. I used to live in TO, know Queen street.. a play on words? very well done.

She does not look especially pleased with you taking her picture. Since we have a lot of those annoying cables with the trains here, I'm quite used to them, but there are those who will find them "distracting".

Lighting and composition is fine, but the subject's expression distracts from the image.
