I hope it won't be considered DNMC, because it's too literally inside-out. Light from the inside going out, now how to shoot that? I almost got nicotin poisoning ;) I used a rattan ball for Takraw (thai volley ball) and stuck some christmas tree lights inside. Then went to the balcony in the evening, and started puffing cigarette smoke and shooting pictures with a remote. I had to use ISO 1600 (which is horrible on my old D30) to get the rays, because the smoke clouds around the ball didn't last very long, and the lights were very weak. 4 cigarettes, 50 takes, got this one.
Opened in Photoshop and first cleaned the noise in Lab image mode with Noiseninja on Lightness channel. Then a slight crop, back to RGB, some curves for contrast, resize, usm 400%/0.2, border. |

Lovely! If you had composed it a bit more, it would have been near to 10. At present. 8. |
