 I was actually taking some photos of a copier screen to create some support docs. My coworker was engaged in a support call with a customer. I thought the morning light was pretty decent and might make a good entry for this topic. He didn't even know I had taken several shots of him until I showed it to him later to ask if I could use his photo for a challenge. I used this as an opportunity to work on my b/w adjustments. One thing I tried, that I think worked, was applying a very light blue duotone. I think it increases the intensity of the blacks, without it being obviously colorized. I think I did pretty decent on this one. I'm really starting to like my 50mm 1.8. My ISO and shutter speed was not optimum for this shot, but then, it was a quick shot of opportunity.

Pre-challenge notes:
Not expecting a very high score, as this is a pretty mundane shot of someone at work. Not a lot of wow-factor in that, but I'm hoping to at least get in the mid 5's with it. I may get a negative comment or two relating to the bulge of the phone receiver that's partially visible against his shoulder.

Post-challenge notes:
Came in around where I expected, but the comments that were left tell me I nailed exactly what I was after with this entry. I was especially pleased that a high scoring member like AlexSaberi mentioned those features in his comment. I'm on the right track.

I really like the blue tone you added to this. It may not have that big 'wow factor' but it seems techincally fine to me and I think the composition couldn't have been better.

Yep looks like someone working to me, I like the B&W conversion and the use of it here I think it works quite well.

I really like this shot even though not up to the expected technical standards the voters in this sit expect but, it emotes a feeling of contemplating and working. I like it!
